(Toronto, ON, VL Press 09.01.2022) In 2009 Victorious Legacy launched the first ever North American Guide to Black History Month called the Smart Guide to Black History Month. Achieving 3 years of publication success with special historical timelines, events, places to shop and features of top professionals.
The guide was available at schools, businesses and online with sponsorship from Tourism Toronto, Bank of Montreal, and endorsements from politicians, educators an supported by the community. For 2023, the guide is being reintroduced with anew look and a new name.
Why the change?
“We feel the change is necessary to redefine who we are in identity and to use the month of February to reestablish truth, order and balance,” says Kerry Ann Thomas, founder of the Maat Guide to Negro History Month.
This year’s special features are Culturelicious and the history of Negroland.
Partners, sponsors, advertisers, writers and event listings are invited to join in redefining the narrative.
